Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiac Tele PCU - Part Time Days
About The Position
The Cardiac Tele PCU is a 24-bed post-interventional unit mixed with medical telemetry, providing comprehensive post-interventional cardiac care to patients from admission to discharge. We specialize in the care of cardiovascular patients, including Heart Failure, AMI, and Arrhythmia patients, as well as pre- and post-interventional patients (Cath, Ablations, & Pacemakers). The unit offers self-scheduling to promote work-life balance. The AMI program has achieved the trifecta of awards from the American Heart Association and National Cardiovascular Data for the second consecutive year.
Requirements
- Diploma Nurse required or Associate degree from an accredited Nursing program required
- One-year experience as a clinical nurse, or completion of an RN residency program
- RN must practice within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
Nice To Haves
- BSN preferred
- PCU, Step-down Intermediate, Cardiac Tele highly preferred
Responsibilities
- Delivers care to patients utilizing the Nursing Process
- Assesses the patient
- Plans the care of the patient
- Evaluates the effectiveness of interventions
- Incorporates age-specific safety/infection control measures into patient care
- Initiates action to meet patient and/or significant others' need for information
- Maintains continuity of patient care inter-shift, inter-hospital, and while expediting out-of-hospital transfers
- Practices within the regulations of the Texas Nurse Practice Act
- Serves as a role model, intra/interdisciplinary collaborator, and coordinator for quality patient care
