About The Position

The Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) cares for patients in telemetry units, including patients who need cardiac monitoring. The RN monitors and interprets vital signs, including heart rate, heart rhythm, respiratory rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation. Continuous monitoring provides real-time information to support patient-care decisions and early detection of abnormalities or changes in a patient's condition. This is a full-time, night-shift position with 12-hour shifts at Dallas Regional Medical Center in Mesquite, Texas.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.

Nice To Haves

• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter.
• Previous acute-care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Assess patients' conditions, including vital signs, cardiac rhythms, and overall health status, and create individualized care plans.
• Monitor patients' cardiac rhythms and vital signs using telemetry equipment for remote heart-rate and rhythm monitoring.
• Communicate changes in patients' clinical conditions to physicians, including cardiac monitoring information, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
• Administer medications as prescribed, including intravenous medications, and monitor patients for adverse reactions.
• Provide hands-on care, including wound care, treatments, assistance with activities of daily living, and emotional support.
• Educate patients and families about conditions, medications, treatments, self-care practices, and lifestyle modifications.
• Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions and communicate concerns to physicians.
• Deliver safe patient care using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
