Baylor University Medical Center is seeking a Registered Nurse for its Level IV Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) in Dallas, Texas. The NICU cares for patients from 22 weeks gestational age through term and has 83 beds, including an 8-bed Tiniest Texans unit, with an average daily census of 50 and more than 600 annual NICU admissions. Patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:4. The unit has 24/7 in-house neonatologist and neonatal nurse practitioner coverage, as well as a neonatal transport team. Nurses have access to training and advancement opportunities, a neonatal internship, a transition-to-practice residency, and support for specialty certification. This is a 13-week seasonal assignment with full-time weekly shift and hour requirements, excluding the first week of orientation. Orientation takes place Monday through Friday during the first week. The seasonal rate is $51 per hour, with a $1,500 completion bonus for meeting minimum productive-time requirements. Weekend requirements match those for regular full-time staff. The position is a Baylor employee role, not an agency or contractual role; after the assignment, the intent is that the employee may convert to a regular full-time, part-time, or PRN role. Baylor Scott & White Health offers nurses a collaborative work environment focused on safe, high-quality care, learning, mentoring, innovation, and professional growth. The organization describes its nursing culture as promoting shared governance, evidence-based practice, research, and interprofessional collaboration.
