Registered Nurse PRN Rapid Response
About The Position
The Registered Nurse on the Rapid Response Team responds to Rapid Response Team calls, Code Blues, Heart Alerts, Stroke Alerts, Sepsis alerts, and other patient care emergencies. The RN conducts proactive surveillance to identify patients at risk of complications or becoming seriously ill, making frequent rounds and consulting with bedside nurses in a supportive, non-intimidating manner. Through a consistent presence, the RN provides clinical knowledge and support, builds trust and familiarity with colleagues, and serves as a teacher during and after events, particularly to help less-experienced nurses.
Requirements
- Registered Nurse (RN) qualification; an associate degree, bachelor's degree, or Registered Nurse diploma is accepted.
- Three years of RN acute care experience in the designated area.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification must be obtained within 90 days of employment start date.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
- No travel required.
Responsibilities
- Respond to Rapid Response Team calls, Code Blues, Heart Alerts, Stroke Alerts, Sepsis alerts, and other patient care emergencies.
- Conduct proactive surveillance to identify patients at risk for complications or serious illness.
- Make frequent rounds and collaborate with bedside nurses through consultation.
- Provide bedside nurses with support, clinical knowledge, and expertise.
- Teach and support less-experienced nurses during and after events.
