About The Position
We are seeking passionate Registered Nurses to join a child and adolescent unit caring for patients aged 5–18 who are experiencing acute mental health crises. The unit focuses on stabilization through group offerings, including Activities Therapy, Mindfulness, Wellness, and Coping Skills, as well as psychopharmacological interventions. Registered Nurses collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to meet patient goals and ensure safe, effective, and therapeutic care. The position requires a commitment of 36 or 48 hours per week, with rotating day, evening, and night shifts. Weekend and holiday work is required based on unit needs.
Requirements
- Current New York State RN License.
- At least 2 years of experience in pediatric mental health.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- Certification in nonviolent crisis intervention (CPI blue card).
- Experience in a large academic medical center.
