About The Position

Horizon Health, in partnership with Murray Calloway, is seeking a full-time Registered Nurse (RN) for the day shift (7am-7pm) on the inpatient Behavioral Health unit in Murray, KY. This unit has 12 beds and specializes in geriatric psychiatric care. The RN will perform comprehensive nursing care, including assessing, monitoring, recording, and reporting patient conditions. Responsibilities include maintaining accurate patient records, conducting mental and physical assessments, administering medications and treatments, assisting patients with daily activities, observing reactions, and managing therapeutic milieu activities such as groups and 1:1 sessions. Collaboration with the treatment team is essential to ensure optimal patient care. The role also involves interpreting patient needs to non-clinical staff, ensuring patient dignity and respect for values, and providing emotional and psychological support. Other duties as assigned are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1-3 year of related work experience required.
  • State RN Certification/License in KY required
  • CPR, BLS and ACLS required
  • Crisis Prevention Experience
  • Ability to Manage anger, fear, hostility and violence of others
  • Ability to Manage Stress Appropriately
  • Proficient in Applicable Software Applications
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Proficient in mathematical and analytical skills as they apply to clinical duties
  • Above Average Organizational Skills
  • Ability to Prioritize Multiple Tasks

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial nursing assessment with 24 hours of admission on per facility policy; reassess routinely throughout patients’ stay at the facility
  • Complete individualized treatment plans for each patient
  • Plan, implement and coordinate nursing care activities for patients.
  • Conduct therapies in accordance with patient’s diagnosis and needs.
  • Perform treatment intervention following physician orders such as medication administration and medical treatment orders.
  • Medication reconciliation
  • Follow voluntary and involuntary procedure/process.
  • Interpret the nursing and treatment needs of the patient to nonclinical staff assigned to the patient.
  • Insure patient dignity and respect patient values. Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, families and friends.
  • Performs other duties as assigned/required by this position.
