About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families, using independent judgment and communicating and collaborating with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. This position is in Emergency Medicine at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, a provisional Level 3 Trauma Center and Stroke Certified hospital that cares for more than 22,000 patients per year. The unit uses Artic Sun, cardiac monitoring, rapid infusers, fluid warmers, and Bair Hugger equipment. The position is an afternoon shift, full-time role. A sign-on bonus of up to $25,000 is available, based on relevant experience.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) in the state of Michigan.
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
- Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
- Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
