About The Position
The Detroit Medical Center (DMC) Registered Nurse (RN) is a member of the Patient Care Services Team and is responsible for the satisfactory completion of nursing care by the nursing team. The RN manages and provides patient care activities for a group of patients and their families through independent judgment, communication, and collaboration with team members, including ancillary and support services. The role encompasses leadership, partnership, collaboration, teaching, and supervision. This position is in the Emergency Department at DMC Huron Valley-Sinai Hospital, an emergency medicine unit and provisional Level 3 Trauma Center that is stroke certified and cares for more than 22,000 patients per year. Specialized equipment includes Artic Sun, cardiac monitoring, rapid infusers, fluid warmers, and Bair Hugger devices. An up to $25,000 sign-on bonus is available, based on relevant experience.
Requirements
- Graduation from a school of nursing.
- Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of Michigan.
- American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with physicians and other health care providers.
- Delegate, assess, provide, and evaluate patient care.
- Provide and delegate patient care activities to team members.
- Monitor patient progress and prepare patients for discharge.
- Report directly to senior unit management and participate in shared decision-making activities.
