About The Position

The Staff Nurse works in a mixed unit of General Surgical, Oncology/Chemo, and Hospice at Elmhurst Main Hospital. The nurse delivers safe and compassionate care to all patient populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating each patient’s plan of care. The role involves collaborating with nurses, physicians, and other members of the clinical team to support optimal patient outcomes and continuity of care. This is a part-time position of 24 hours per week, with hours from 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., every third weekend, and rotating holidays.

Requirements

Associate degree or higher in Nursing.
If an Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of the position start date; this requirement is effective September 1, 2021.
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Obtain Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification within four years of the start date in the position.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
One year of inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred.
