About The Position

The Staff Nurse works on a mixed unit caring for general surgical, oncology/chemotherapy, and hospice patients at Elmhurst Main Hospital. The nurse delivers safe, compassionate care to patients across populations by planning, implementing, and evaluating each patient’s plan of care, and collaborates with nurses, physicians, and other clinical team members to support optimal outcomes and continuity of care. This is a full-time position scheduled for 36 hours per week, from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m., with every third weekend and rotating holidays.

Requirements

Associate degree or higher in Nursing.
If an Associate Degree in Nursing is the highest degree held, graduate with a Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing within five years of the position start date; this requirement is effective September 1, 2021.
Current incumbents with an RN Diploma are grandfathered; an RN Diploma is accepted for nurses whose position start date was before September 1, 2021.
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse licensure.
Current CPR certification issued by the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
Chemotherapy/Biotherapy Certification within four years of the start date into the position.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Nursing.
One year of inpatient nursing experience is highly preferred.
