About The Position

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to provide comprehensive care in a fast-paced Emergency Department. The department cares for newborn, pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients and has 64 beds: 2 triage, 40 acute, 6 super track, 2 trauma, 10 CDU, and 6 psychiatric beds. Common diagnoses include stroke, sepsis, trauma, myocardial infarction, cardiac arrest, and respiratory failure. Specialty equipment includes a rapid infusor and Arctic Sun.

The role includes a shift from 10:30 AM to 11:00 PM. Block scheduling is not guaranteed, and floating is required. The scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• Active New York State Registered Nurse license.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC.

• Charge capability is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care to all assigned Emergency Department patients.
• Administer medications and manage care plans.
• Assist with emergency interventions.
• Utilize required drips and medications, including pressors, vasodilators, anti-arrhythmics, sedatives, TNK, heparin, and insulin.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Provide care for patients with specific needs, including Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner (SANE) care.
