About The Position

Nexus MedPro Staffing is seeking an experienced Intermediate Care (IMC) / Progressive Care (PCU) Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment at an acute care hospital in Lubbock, Texas. The RN provides specialized nursing care to patients requiring advanced monitoring and treatment beyond a general medical-surgical unit. The position involves caring for complex cardiac, respiratory, and neurological patients in a 32-bed Progressive Care Unit, with an approximate nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4. The hospital is a Level II Trauma facility with 379 staffed beds. The assignment pays up to $2,258 per week and is scheduled for days, three 12-hour shifts from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, totaling 36 hours per week. Six weekend shifts are required per scheduling period. Floating between units is required and may include nearby sister facilities. There is no on-call requirement. The start date is November 16, 2026.

Requirements

At least 1 year of RN experience.
Active Texas RN license or eligible compact RN license in hand at submission.
Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications.
Level II Trauma experience.
Experience with cardiac drips and post-cardiac catheterization care.
Tracheostomy and ventilator management experience.
Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms and monitor telemetry.
Willingness to float between units as required.

Nice To Haves

2 or more years of PCU, IMC, or Stepdown experience.
Epic charting experience.
First-time travel nurses may be considered if they meet the clinical requirements.

Responsibilities

Provide specialized nursing care to patients requiring advanced monitoring and treatment.
Monitor cardiac telemetry and interpret cardiac rhythms.
Administer and titrate cardiac medications and drips.
Care for patients following cardiac catheterization and other interventions.
Manage patients with tracheostomies and ventilators.
Respond to changes in patient conditions.
Float between units as required.
