About The Position

Hospital Sisters Health System (HSHS) is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our Women & Infant Services unit. Ideal candidates are patient-focused, mission-driven caregivers looking for an opportunity to apply clinical knowledge to assist in the delivery of newborns in conjunction with providing emotional and medical support for the mother during labor with a variety including high risk patients. Establishes a compassionate environment by providing emotional, psychological, and spiritual support to patients, friends, and families. Promotes and restores patients' health by completing the nursing process, collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary team members, providing physical and emotional support to patients, friends, and families, and supervising assigned team members. Promotes patient's independence by establishing patient care goals, teaching patient, friends, and family to understand condition, medications, and self-care skills, and answering questions. Assures quality of care by adhering to therapeutic standards, measuring health outcomes against patient care goals and standards, making or recommending necessary adjustments, and following nursing philosophies and standards of care set by state board of nursing, state nurse practice act, and other governing agency regulations.

Requirements

  • Graduate from an accredited and approved school of nursing accepted for licensure in the state of practice is required.
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery Required.
  • Licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) in state of practice is required.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) is required.
  • ACLS Required.
  • NRP Required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the delivery of newborns.
