About The Position

The Registered Nurse works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager and provides individual patient care on a nursing unit in accordance with unit policies and procedures. The role assesses, plans, implements, evaluates, and supervises patient care while supporting the organization’s strategic values through excellent care. This is a full-time Progressive Care Unit position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

High school diploma or successful completion of an equivalent high school exam.
Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in Ohio.
BLS certification within 90 days of hire.
ACLS certification within one year of hire.
No experience required.

Responsibilities

Complete nursing assessments and document appropriately in patient records.
Develop, evaluate, and update plans of care based on patient assessments.
Communicate and collaborate with physicians and other health team members to develop plans of care.
Initiate, manage, and participate in discharge planning.
Implement, delegate, and coordinate patient care.
Facilitate patient and family teaching as appropriate.
Participate in hourly rounding and bedside shift reports.
Answer call lights and respond to patient needs.
Provide total patient care.
Pre-clean, decontaminate, and transport contaminated instruments according to policy.
Perform intermediate-level and/or high-level disinfection according to manufacturer instructions for use, ensuring department scopes or probes are cleaned, disinfected, maintained, and stored accordingly.
Perform other duties as assigned.
