About The Position

Stonington Institute, a division of Universal Health Services (UHS), is seeking a part-time Registered Nurse (RN) to join their team. UHS is a Fortune 500 company and a respected provider of hospital and healthcare services. Stonington Institute specializes in substance abuse treatment for adults in Southeastern Connecticut, offering medical detox and residential addictions treatment. They also have a clinic in Groton, CT, providing partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient treatment. The Inn at Trails Corner is a new sober living community for clients attending their outpatient programs. The Registered Nurse (RN) will be an active part of the treatment team, providing continuous care, supervision, interaction, and role modeling to clients in the Detox Unit. Responsibilities include client assessments, transcribing and implementing physician's orders, assessing substance withdrawal using approved scales, developing treatment plans, setting goals, and administering medications and treatments.

Requirements

Graduate of accredited school of nursing with a current State of Connecticut R.N. License
Must be available to work weekends and holidays
May be required to work overtime and holdover shifts

Nice To Haves

Minimum of one year experience working in the Mental Health or Substance Abuse field preferred

Responsibilities

Functions as an active part of the treatment team and provides continuous care, supervision, interaction and role modeling to our Detox Unit clients.
Assess clients thoroughly upon admission and as needed.
Accurately transcribe and implement physician’s orders.
Assess clients withdrawing from substances using facility approved assessment scales.
Develop appropriate and effective treatment plans for all active problems identified in the nursing assessment.
Set appropriate behavioral, observable, and measurable goals and develop effective interventions to help clients achieve their goals.
Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
