About The Position

Harney District Hospital is looking to hire a Registered Nurse for part-time, night shift coverage. Part-time equates to two 12-hour shifts per week, and night shifts are from 6:45pm-7:15am. Established in Burns, Oregon in 1920, we are a 25-bed critical access hospital that serves residents living in rural communities spread across the 10,000 square miles of beautiful Harney County. Despite our small size and remote location, we offer modern facilities, state-of-the-art technology, and a comprehensive range of services. Requirements

  • Thorough knowledge of professional nursing principles and practices and license limitations.
  • Knowledge of mathematics to include basic algebra and geometry.
  • Computer and keyboard operations.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing, or any satisfactory combination of experience and training which demonstrates the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties.
  • Current Registered Nurse license within the State of Oregon, or ability to acquire by the time of appointment.
  • CPR/BLS certification.

Nice To Haves

  • At least one year (1) of nursing experience.
  • ACLS certification within one year.
  • NRP certification as soon as available per schedule of nurse educator but within the first two years of employment.
  • ENCP/PALS certification as soon as available per schedule of nurse educator but within the first two years of employment.
  • TNCC certification as soon as available per schedule of nurse educator but within the first two years of employment.
  • Possession of ACLS, TNCC at time of appointment.
  • Possession of PALS at time of appointment or within one (1) year of appointment.
  • Previous nursing experience in a Rural Critical Access hospital.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care.
  • Analyze and interpret professional journals, technical procedures, and governmental regulations.
  • Write medical reports and procedures.
