Registered Nurse -CVH PRCC Medical Oncology Treatment

This position is for a Temporary Full Time Registered Nurse in the Peel Regional Cancer Centre - Oncology Program, Palliative Care & Medical Outpatient Clinics at Credit Valley Hospital, for approximately 12-18 months.
Requirements
- Graduates of a recognized College or School of Nursing
- Current certification or eligibility for certification of competence from the College of Nurses of Ontario is required
- Current B.C.L.S.
- Previous experience in Medical/Oncology/Palliative is required
- Knowledge of the philosophy and concepts of Oncology and Palliative Nursing practice
- Demonstrates excellence in communication skills, strong attention to patient and family centred care and establishing therapeutic relationships
- One who demonstrates strong organizational, prioritization and problem-solving skills
- Can provide evidence of ongoing professional development
- Satisfactory attendance and performance required
Nice To Haves
- Preferably hold a Baccalaureate degree
- Recent Oncology certification
- De Souza chemotherapy and biotherapy and foundations in oncology courses
- Palliative Care certification
Responsibilities
- Provide nursing care within a primary nursing framework
- Work as a member of the inter-professional team
- Clearly articulate nursing assessments and patients' goals of care
- Provide and deliver patients and families with educational teaching
