REGISTERED NURSE, Acute Rehab Unit - Per Diem
About The Position
Northwest Specialty Hospital, an extension of Northern Nevada Medical Center, is a new facility in Northwest Reno offering acute rehabilitation and adult behavioral health services. Acute rehabilitation services include occupational, speech, and physical therapy for adults recovering from stroke, injury, or other disabling conditions, including brain injury, amputation, neurological disorders, major multiple traumas, and spinal cord and back injuries. The facility offers private rooms and a therapy gym. The adult behavioral health program serves adults 18 and older and is managed by a multidisciplinary team. This per diem Registered Nurse position is on the Acute Rehab Unit at the new rehabilitation hospital in Northwest Reno. The nurse provides safe and compassionate care in an acute rehabilitation environment, using Patient Centered Care as the foundation for nursing care and demonstrating Service Excellence standards. Care includes attending to patients’ individual and family needs and coordinating interdisciplinary plans of care.
Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved RN program, or graduate of an accredited LPN/LVN program.
- Current Nevada nursing license.
- Current BLS certificate.
Nice To Haves
- One year of full-time or three years of part-time experience in an acute care setting preferred.
Responsibilities
- Involve patients and families’ psychosocial, spiritual, emotional, population-specific, and diversity needs in care assessment.
- Construct and implement plans of care using nursing knowledge and skill, integrating direct and indirect patient care activities related to diagnoses and comorbidities.
- Coordinate implementation of the interdisciplinary plan of care for assigned patients.
- Develop goals, treatment plans, and discharge plans that meet individual patient and family needs.
- Provide safe and compassionate care in the acute rehabilitation environment and demonstrate Service Excellence standards.
