As a Registered Nurse within UVA Health's Women's and Children's Units, you will provide evidence-based care to patients across a variety of clinical settings. This role combines advanced clinical practice, patient advocacy, interdisciplinary collaboration, and compassionate support for patients and families during some of life's most critical moments. Working within a fast-paced academic medical center, you will: Deliver comprehensive nursing care to women, infants, children, and adolescent patients with a wide range of healthcare needs. Assess patient conditions, develop individualized plans of care, and evaluate outcomes throughout hospitalization. Partner closely with physicians, advanced practice providers, therapists, pharmacists, care coordinators, and support staff. Support family-centered care by engaging patients and loved ones throughout the treatment journey. Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, medications, discharge planning, and ongoing care needs. Utilize critical thinking and sound clinical judgment when caring for medically complex patients. Participate in quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, shared governance, and professional development opportunities. Contribute to a culture focused on safety, teamwork, innovation, and exceptional patient experiences. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nursing program required.
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing required within 5 years of hire.
  • 1 year of relevant experience.
  • Licensed to Practice as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
  • American Heart Association (AHA) Health Care Provider BLS certification required.
