Registered Nurse - Clinical Decision Unit - Observation
About The Position
As a Registered Nurse in Henry Ford St. John Hospital’s 28-bed Observation / Clinical Decision Unit, you will coordinate and deliver quality, compassionate patient care. You will use the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, while supporting patients and families, communicating effectively with the healthcare team, and helping achieve patient goals. The unit specializes in ambulatory patients, including those with chest pain, TIA, abdominal pain, and falls at home. As an extension of the Emergency Department, staff may periodically float between Emergency and Observation as needed. The department includes physicians, Registered Nurses, and Patient Care Technicians, and provides training to help candidates succeed in the environment. This is a full-time, benefit-eligible position scheduled for 36 hours per week on the night shift, from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM. The schedule consists of three 12-hour shifts per week, rotating every other weekend and observed holiday. A $7,500 sign-on bonus is offered.
Requirements
- Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current licensure by the Michigan State Board of Nursing.
- Health care provider certification (BLS).
