About The Position

The Registered Nurse works in the Family Birthing Center at Firelands Health. The role implements the nursing process and carries out physicians’ orders for diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care. The nurse assesses patients, monitors and evaluates care quality, documents interventions in care plans and medical records, and reports findings to physicians as needed. The role also provides instruction to patients, staff, and family members about treatments, nursing plans, and related care to support safe discharge; responds to emergencies; maintains the availability of medications and supplies; and helps ensure equipment and the care environment are clean. The nurse demonstrates service excellence and serves as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC. This is a PRN position requiring at least 24 hours per month, including 12 hours of weekend shifts.

Requirements

Current Ohio RN license.
CPR certification before patient care experience.
Current NRP and Basic EKG, or obtain both within six months of hire and keep them current.
Fetal Monitoring and Stable course, required within one year.
Excellent organizational skills, customer service skills, and computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience.
Board certification in the area of expertise, preferred within two years.
