About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides nursing care in Firelands Health’s Family Birthing Center in Bellevue. The role implements the nursing process and carries out physician orders for diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care. The nurse assesses patients, monitors and evaluates care quality, documents interventions, and communicates findings to physicians as needed. The position also includes patient and family education, emergency response, maintaining medications and supplies, and ensuring the cleanliness of equipment and the care environment. The nurse is expected to demonstrate service excellence and serve as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC. This PRN position requires a minimum of 24 hours per month, including 12 hours on a weekend shift.

Requirements

Current Ohio RN license.
CPR certification prior to patient care experience.
Current NRP and Basic EKG certification, or obtain them within six months of hire and maintain them.
Complete a Fetal Monitoring and Stable course within one year.
Excellent organizational skills, customer service skills, and computer proficiency.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of experience is preferred.
Board certification in the area of expertise is preferred within two years.

Responsibilities

Implement the nursing process and carry out physicians’ orders regarding diet, medication, and treatment in accordance with Firelands standards of care.
Perform assessments and monitor and ensure quality care through observation and evaluation.
Document nursing interventions in care plans and medical records, and report findings to physicians as needed.
Instruct patients, staff, and family members about treatments, nursing plans, and related patient care to support a safe discharge.
Respond to emergencies.
Maintain availability of medications and supplies and ensure the cleanliness of equipment and the environment.
Demonstrate service excellence and act as an ambassador and advocate for FRMC.
