About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides clinical direction for all aspects of patient care in an acute inpatient setting, fostering patient- and family-centered care. The role uses evidence-based practices throughout the nursing process—assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, and outcomes—and applies safety, cost-containment, and quality-improvement principles. The nurse identifies patient, unit, and organizational priorities; follows organizational policies and compliance requirements; understands applicable regulatory requirements; and provides care within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act. This position is on the Intermediate ICU (IICU) unit at Prisma Health Richland Hospital. The 21-bed Stepdown Unit cares for trauma, pulmonary, neurology, and internal medicine patients, including patients with injuries, acute respiratory failure, sepsis, and strokes. The unit has a 3:1 patient-to-nurse ratio. The acute inpatient setting may require weekend, holiday, and on-call work. This night-shift role is eligible for a $5,000 sign-on bonus for external candidates.
