About The Position

Provides professional nursing services and supports the delivery of an effective Health and Wellness program in accordance with student needs, Job Corps requirements, and Center policies and procedures. Assists with the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of student health services; provides direct nursing care, health education, and appropriate follow-up; and works collaboratively with the Health and Wellness team to promote the overall health, safety, and well-being of students.

Requirements

Must possess active State RN License.
Must possess a valid Driver’s License with an acceptable driving record.
Must possess current CPR and First Aid certification.
Thorough knowledge of nursing techniques and practices
Knowledge of current state and federal laws regulating health care and patient privacy (HIPPA)
Ability to effectively interact with students and staff
Capacity to handle multiple priorities
Excellent customer service skills; strong communication skills both written and verbal
Ability to carry out direction; strong decision-making skills
Proficient in the use of computer software such as MSWord, Excel and Outlook, etc.

Nice To Haves

One year health care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Performs nursing assessments and participates in the medical evaluation of students to identify health concerns and determine appropriate nursing interventions and follow-up care.
Evaluates student health needs and makes appropriate referrals to the Center Physician, Dentist, Health and Wellness Manager, Career Counselor, mental health professionals, or outside healthcare providers as appropriate.
Assesses, monitors, documents, and reports student health status, including vital signs, symptoms, changes in condition, and response to treatment.
Provides direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency response within the scope of professional nursing practice and established Center protocols.
Administers medications and treatments as prescribed and ensures appropriate documentation, storage, monitoring, and medication-management practices.
Assists healthcare providers with examinations, treatments, diagnostic procedures, and coordination of follow-up care.
Develops and provides student education regarding personal health, hygiene, medication compliance, disease prevention, wellness, and healthy lifestyle practices.
Maintains accurate, complete, and confidential electronic and/or written health records in accordance with established policies, procedures, and applicable requirements.
Participates in case management and interdisciplinary coordination of care for students with acute, chronic, behavioral, or ongoing healthcare needs.
Monitors medical supplies, medications, and equipment to ensure appropriate inventory levels, proper storage, functionality, and readiness for use.
Coordinates and monitors assigned health-related services and provider schedules, including the Center Mental Health Consultant (CMHC), as applicable.
Participates in health promotion, infection prevention, emergency preparedness, and Center-wide initiatives that support student health and safety.
Communicates significant student health concerns and changes in condition to the appropriate healthcare provider and Health and Wellness Manager and assists with continuity of care.
Performs other related duties as assigned within the scope of the position and professional nursing practice.
