The Medical Surgical Oncology Registered Nurse provides nursing care in an acute hospital setting. The role requires chemotherapy administration experience and may involve floating to similar units within the clinician’s scope to meet facility needs. This is a 13-week assignment with an ASAP start and a 3x12 night shift schedule. Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other weekend depending on staffing needs. No on-call is required. The facility may call off the traveler for one 12-hour shift per two-week period; guaranteed hours are 60 per two weeks. Candidates must have an Alaska RN license in hand for an auto offer. A pending license is accepted during the application process, but the candidate must complete the Alaska RN license application within 48 hours of signing, including submitting fingerprints, the application fee, and the license application. Local candidates are not accepted; the candidate’s permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility. Time-off requests are reviewed individually upon offer and must be included in the submission. Block scheduling is not accommodated. The facility is a 407-staffed-bed Magnet facility, a Level II trauma center, and was identified as a USNWR Best Hospital in Alaska. Scrubs are provided, charting is done in Epic, and parking is free.
