About The Position
Sentara CarePlex Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department in Hampton, Virginia. New graduates are welcome. The Emergency Department has 43 beds, including 11 fast-track beds for patients with shorter lengths of stay. Emergency physicians are board-certified, and emergency nurses receive specialized emergency-care training and have Advanced Cardiac Life Support and pediatric certifications. The nurse's primary duties include assessing and admitting patients, conducting rounding checks, administering medications, communicating with family members, and providing overall patient care. The role emphasizes teamwork and offers opportunities to develop nursing skills across specialties and potentially advance into leadership or other levels of care. The position offers a night shift schedule with 36 scheduled hours. Compensation is listed at $41.93–$61.01 per hour for full-time employment; additional compensation may include shift differentials, on-call pay, overtime, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonuses. A $20,000 sign-on bonus, specialty unit pay, and relocation assistance for qualified candidates are noted. Requirements
- Virginia or Compact Multi-State License in good standing.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 90 days of hire.
- One of the following nursing education credentials: RN Associate’s Degree, RN Bachelor’s Degree, RN Diploma, or RN Master’s Degree.
