About The Position

The Pre Op/PACU Registered Nurse provides and oversees care for patients before and after surgery or other procedures. The role may serve adult, adolescent, geriatric, or pediatric patients. The nurse may rotate to areas outside the assigned service area and performs only duties for which competency has been demonstrated. The nurse also oversees assistive personnel and remains ultimately accountable for the care provided to assigned patients.

The schedule is four 10-hour shifts, Monday through Friday. Weekend call is required; overnight and holiday work is not required.

Requirements

• Current Registered Nurse licensure in Colorado or an active multistate Registered Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
• ACLS and PALS certifications.
• Graduation from an accredited school of nursing.
• At least one year of experience.
• PACU, ambulatory, critical care, or emergency department experience.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and direct care of post-surgical and post-procedural patients.
• Provide care to applicable age groups, including adult, adolescent, geriatric, or pediatric patients.
• Rotate to areas outside the assigned service area as needed and perform only duties for which competency has been demonstrated.
• Oversee and direct assistive personnel, maintaining final accountability for care provided to assigned patients.
