About The Position

The Clinical Nurse provides direct patient care activities, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation in accordance with nursing care standards. In the Pre/Post Op/Same Day Surgery setting, Ambulatory Surgery provides patients with postoperative care and monitoring. This is a safety-sensitive position that requires the ability to remain alert and work safely. The role includes three 12-hour shifts, from 6:00 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., with no call requirement.

Requirements

• Nursing diploma or associate degree in Nursing.
• Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.

Nice To Haves

• Pre/post-operative experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in Nursing.
• Less than two years of experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote patient- and family-centered care in a healing environment.
• Educate patients and families on managing illness or injury, including post-treatment home care needs and medication administration.
• Participate in activities that promote patient safety, quality, and regulatory compliance, and participate in professional development.
• Develop, implement, and document individualized plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with the interprofessional team and the patient, family, or caregiver.
• Plan proactively and ensure communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care.
• Use critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate patients’ physical, psychosocial, and emotional needs according to standards of care.
• Assess patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values and emotional, spiritual, cultural, and population-specific needs.
