About The Position

The Registered Nurse utilizes the nursing process to provide care to patients in all settings in collaboration with other healthcare providers. The RN is accountable for their professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law. Using organizational resources, the RN advocates for patients and supports safe care, including delegating care and participating in performance and practice improvement activities. Nursing care at Kettering Health reflects the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of the organization and its nursing departments.

Requirements

• Licensed in the state of Ohio as a Registered Nurse.
• For new graduate nurses, graduate of an accredited school of nursing (NLN, ACEN, or CCNE).
• A nurse returning to acute care after five or more years may be required to provide evidence of successful completion of a refresher course.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS, NRP, or PALS certification as determined by unit scope of practice.

Responsibilities

• Use the nursing process to provide care to patients in collaboration with other healthcare providers.
• Maintain accountability for professional development and practice within the scope of care defined by law.
• Act as a patient advocate for safe care, including delegating care and participating in performance and practice improvement activities.
• Deliver nursing care consistent with the missions, vision, values, and philosophies of Kettering Health and its nursing departments.
