About The Position
Sage Connections is seeking a full-time W-2 Registered Nurse (RN) to provide 1:1 support services for the 2026–2027 school year. This role involves providing comprehensive nursing care and support to a high school senior with significant needs in a classroom setting. Sage Connections is a woman- and therapist-owned company dedicated to supporting special education professionals and fostering their growth and well-being.
Requirements
- Current and Unrestricted Rhode Island RN License
- 1+ years of pediatric nursing experience
- Experience supporting students with complex medical and developmental needs
- CPR and First Aid certification required
- Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
- Compassionate, patient, and student-centered
Nice To Haves
- Experience with diabetes, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, and wheelchair support
Responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 nursing support to a high school senior in a significant needs classroom
- Manage diabetes care and other health needs throughout the school day
- Support ADLs including feeding, toileting, transfers, and personal care
- Assist with wheelchair mobility and 2-person lifting as needed
- Provide academic and classroom support, as well as community vocational exploration
- Coordinate with parents, school staff, and healthcare providers as needed
- Maintain documentation and comply with school health and safety regulations
- Participate in IEP or 504 Plan meetings when relevant
