About The Position

The Registered Nurse works collaboratively at Mercy Fitzgerald Hospital as part of an interdisciplinary team to deliver excellent patient care using evidence-based medicine and an individualized approach. The RN facilitates all aspects of the patient visit experience and contributes to care that addresses patients physically, emotionally, and spiritually. This is a part-time role of 24 hours per week on a 12-hour day shift, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, including every other weekend.

Requirements

• Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) from an accredited school of nursing.
• Current Registered Nurse license in Pennsylvania or a Compact State License.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Adhere to hospital nursing practice standards and appropriately assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
• Assist emergent patients and document care using the Emergency Room nursing tool.
• Identify patient needs based on objective data and complete appropriate documentation.
• Implement appropriate nursing actions for identified patient needs.
• Make decisions based on knowledge of facts and sound judgment.
• Discuss planned patient care and expected outcomes with patients and/or their families or significant others, and document the discussion.
• Identify and appropriately use a multidisciplinary approach to facilitate patient care.
