About The Position

The Registered Nurse - LEAD - Internal / Family Medicine delivers direct patient care within the scope of licensure and company policy while supporting quality care, patient safety, efficient clinic operations, and continuity of care. The position includes clinical nursing duties as well as oversight of staff schedules, supplies, patient concerns, and office safety and facilities matters. The nurse may need to commute to satellite offices as needed and demonstrate flexibility with work schedules.

Requirements

Associate degree required.
New Jersey State Nursing License required.
BLS certification required.
0–1 years of experience stated; 2–4 years of experience preferred.
Ability to communicate in English, orally and in writing.
Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
Ability to complete diverse assignments accurately within time limitations.
Problem-solving, critical-thinking, and priority-setting skills.
Ability to meet the listed physical demands, including pushing, pulling, lifting, mobility, dexterity, balance, and endurance.
Ability to commute to satellite offices as needed.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Valid driver’s license and auto insurance preferred.
Experience with standard office equipment, including phone, fax, copy machine, scanner, email, and voicemail preferred.
Experience with standard office technology in a Windows-based environment preferred.
Experience with patient care equipment preferred.
Experience with an EHR, Practice Management System, and departmental or ancillary systems preferred.
2–4 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Deliver direct patient care within licensure and company policy, and maintain accountability for the quality of care provided.
Collect and accurately label laboratory specimens according to departmental guidelines.
Implement physician orders and nursing procedures, prioritizing patient care appropriately.
Document care in the EHR, confirm patient identity before care or documentation, and use EHR tasking appropriately and promptly.
Maintain efficient patient flow; schedule appointments and enter orders in the Practice Management System and EHR according to guidelines.
Administer injections according to protocol and document them accurately in the EHR.
Follow telephone triage protocols and document triage appropriately in the EHR.
Communicate problems, concerns, and issues promptly to the appropriate supervisor or manager.
Prepare for patient visits and obtain and document required vital signs.
Review and update medication lists, document allergies, and follow prescription control and refill procedures.
Provide referrals and consult orders appropriately and promptly in the PMS and EHR.
Follow universal safety precautions when administering medications and disposing of medical waste.
Maintain proficiency with department-specific equipment and promptly report malfunctions.
Facilitate transitions of care to urgent care centers or hospitals.
Check and maintain emergency equipment logs according to policy.
Assist with ordering and maintaining supplies; oversee medical and office supplies and ordering.
Maintain staff and provider schedules in Shift Hound and work with office leadership to ensure adequate staffing coverage.
Monitor the performance of assigned office staff and discuss concerns with the appropriate clinical and office leaders.
Address and resolve patient complaints or issues, communicate resolutions to relevant providers and leaders, and raise provider concerns to management.
Notify office leadership of potential health and safety hazards and place and follow through on facilities or IT work orders.
Perform duties that need attention even when they are not directly assigned and demonstrate flexibility with work schedules.
Commute to satellite offices as needed.
