About The Position
The Registered Nurse (RN) Flex Pool position provides nursing care across various medical and surgical units, with responsibilities spanning Med-Surg Adult and Step Down specialties. Patient populations and procedures may vary depending on the assigned unit. Orientation is provided for each unit to support onboarding and familiarity with unit-specific procedures. The schedule consists of 12-hour day shifts from 0645 to 1915. After the initial week of orientation, the schedule is 36 hours per week; however, hours are not guaranteed. Candidates must hold an active State of Hawaii nursing license by the start of the assignment. Travelers without a Hawaii license must apply upon acceptance of an offer.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of nursing experience is required; the posting also states a range of 2 to 10 years of nursing experience.
- An active State of Hawaii nursing license is required by the start of the assignment. Travelers who do not currently hold one must apply upon acceptance of an offer.
- Proficiency with Meditech EMR, Pyxis, wound vacs, and chest tubes.
- Professional nursing attire, including clean scrubs, is required.

- Trauma Nursing Core Course (TNCC).
- Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course (ENPC).
Responsibilities
- Float between various medical and surgical units and provide care to a range of patients.
- Perform unit-dependent nursing procedures across Med-Surg Adult and Step Down areas.
- Complete orientation for each unit to become familiar with unit-specific procedures.
