About The Position

Seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the Emergency Room (ER) team and provide high-quality patient care in a fast-paced environment. The ER treats an average of 150 patients daily and serves a diverse population of adults and pediatric patients with acute and emergent conditions. The unit has 24+ beds, including fast-track areas for mid-level staff, and a nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4 during shifts. Patient Care Technicians assist as needed. Hospitalists, intensivists, respiratory therapy, and pharmacy staff are available 24/7. No floating to other units is required.

The schedule consists of 12-hour shifts with varying night-shift start times, including 4 p.m., 5 p.m., and 7 p.m. Every other weekend and holidays are included in the schedule rotation. Orientation and training are scheduled over two shifts. The role requires completing Moderate Conscious Sedation competency testing before starting.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of nursing experience, preferably in an emergency room setting.
• Current ACLS, BLS, PALS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Complete Moderate Conscious Sedation competency testing before starting in the role.
• Ability to respond quickly to a high volume of patients.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a busy emergency room treating an average of 150 patients daily.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including hospitalists and intensivists.
• Manage care for adult and pediatric patients with acute and emergent conditions.
• Perform procedures required for patient assessment and treatment, including moderate conscious sedation.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation using the Cerner FirstNet EMR system.
• Participate in orientation and training scheduled over two shifts.
