About The Position

The Registered Nurse in Cardiology at Ascension Medical Group in Elk Grove Village, Illinois, provides phone triage, patient care coordination, clinic support, and patient education. Requirements

• BLS Provider certification obtained within 30 days of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Registered Nurse credential from the Illinois Board of Nursing obtained before hire or job transfer.
• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing, or required professional licensure at the time of hire.
• Three to five years of RN experience in cardiology, emergency room, critical care, or telemetry.

Responsibilities

• Conduct phone triage to identify chief complaints and symptoms and prioritize urgent needs and critical results for immediate action.
• Partner with interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care plans and provide timely instructions to patients.
• Manage medication refills and secure prior authorizations.
• Provide direct support to providers and help streamline clinic operations.
• Triage urgent patient needs and critical results, and review testing and laboratory results.
• Schedule specialized procedures and educate patients about testing and preparation.
