About The Position

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse (RN) at St. Rita's Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients in a progressive-care setting. The RN assesses patient status, prioritizes patient problems and needs, develops and performs care plans to improve outcomes, and helps maintain a safe, therapeutic environment. The role serves as a care link between Med-Surg and ICU units and coordinates patient care across hospital departments.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification must be obtained from an approved source before direct patient care; ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
• 6 months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting (preferred).
• BLS or ACLS certification preferred at hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments; analyze assessment data; create and implement a plan of care; and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with state requirements and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
