About The Position

The Progressive Care (Step down) Registered Nurse position at St. Rita's Medical Center delivers nursing care to patients in the ICU Stepdown (4K) unit. The nurse assesses patient status, determines the priority of patient problems and needs, develops and carries out patient care plans, and works to improve patient outcomes while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment. The role serves as a service line between Med-Surg and ICU units and is full-time, nights.

Requirements

• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• At least 1 year of RN experience.
• Obtain BLS or ACLS certification from an approved source before providing direct patient care; ACLS is required within 6 months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (preferred, not required).
• At least 6 months of RN experience in an acute care hospital setting.
• BLS Basic Life Support or ACLS Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification at hire.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team.
• Conduct initial and ongoing patient assessments, analyze assessment data, create plans of care, implement treatment, and evaluate treatment effectiveness.
• Serve as a point of contact for patients' care coordination throughout hospital departments.
• Advocate for patient safety by participating in ongoing departmental quality improvement.
• Administer medications safely in accordance with the State of Practice and organizational policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
