About The Position

Loyola University Medical Center is seeking an Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) for its Urology practice. The role provides patient-centered care in an organization focused on treating the whole person physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The team-oriented unit offers opportunities to manage a wide range of diagnoses and advance nursing skills.

The RN assesses patients, conducts triage, coordinates care with healthcare providers, educates and supports patients and families, and maintains patient records and related administrative documentation.

Requirements

• Diploma from an accredited school or college of nursing; BSN or ADN.
• BLS provider certification accredited by the American Heart Association, required prior to hire.
• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Illinois.
• 1–2 years of previous experience in a clinical setting.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough patient assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and current symptoms.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans based on patient assessments.
• Perform initial triage, evaluate the urgency of patient conditions, and determine appropriate treatment or referral steps.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare providers to coordinate care, communication, treatments, and follow-ups.
• Educate patients and families about health conditions, medication administration, and lifestyle changes; provide emotional support and answer questions.
• Maintain accurate, up-to-date patient records, document care and interactions, and manage appointment scheduling and other administrative tasks.
