About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides patient care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of the nursing process. Under the supervision of Charge Nurse(s), the RN provides patient education and activities within their competencies and education. The role calls for strong communication and critical-thinking skills to support optimal patient outcomes. This is a part-time position with the clinical team at LaSalle County Jail, working every other Saturday and Sunday on the day shift from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Requirements

Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Maintain current Registered Nurse licensure in the state of employment.
Obtain and maintain CPR certification.
Position is available only to applicants who reside in the United States.

A minimum of one year of clinic experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

Assist in assessing patients and planning individual treatment programs, consulting with Charge Nurse(s) and other staff as needed.
Implement medical plans by administering medications, obtaining diagnostic tests, and assisting with medical or minor surgical procedures as needed.
Count controlled substances and implement clinical and technical aspects of care in accordance with established policies, procedures, and protocols.
Document nursing encounters using SOAP charting as required by policy.
Attend mandatory staff meetings and training.
Communicate information to nursing staff, physicians, health care unit supervisory personnel, and other staff as necessary.
