About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides comprehensive care to Labor and Delivery patients across antepartum, intrapartum, immediate postpartum, and neonatal phases of obstetrical care. The role follows the Nursing Process and complies with state regulations and hospital policies. The nurse may need to float to other units according to facility needs.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of prior travel nursing experience in Labor and Delivery, postpartum, nursery, and Mother/Baby units.
• Current ACLS, BLS, and NRP certifications.
• PALS certification is required and may be obtained within 30 days of employment.
• AHCA clearance is required for placements in Florida.
• Availability for day shifts from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
• Flexibility to float to various units as facility needs dictate.

Nice To Haves

• AWHONN certification; it can be completed onsite.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR).

Responsibilities

• Use critical thinking and scientific judgment to ensure safe delivery of care.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care in accordance with nursing standards.
• Maintain clinical competencies through ongoing education and professional development.
• Delegate patient care tasks based on the education and experience of available nursing staff.
• Provide direction and supervision to assigned personnel in delivering patient care.
• Float to other units as needed based on facility requirements.
