About The Position

Registered Nurse for a 38-bed MedSurg/Telemetry unit caring for adults over age 65. Common diagnoses include trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle collision injuries. Nurses care for trauma patients and administer heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered. The role involves communicating with and including families in patient care. The unit uses the EPIC EMR.

Requirements

• Documented MedSurg/Telemetry experience.
• BLS certification.
• ACLS certification.
• Complete and provide the required checklist.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in geriatrics, trauma, or orthopedic trauma.
• Familiarity with hospital-acquired delirium prevention, early mobility, hospital-acquired pressure injury (HAPI) prevention, and fall prevention.
• Comfort with family communication and involvement.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients on a 38-bed MedSurg/Telemetry unit with a 1:5 patient ratio.
• Provide care to adults over age 65, including patients with trauma, falls, fractures, and motor vehicle collision injuries.
• Care for trauma patients and administer heparin drips and other acute medications as ordered.
• Support prevention of hospital-acquired delirium, pressure injuries, and falls, and promote early mobility.
• Communicate with and involve patients’ families in care.
