About The Position

Covenant Living, a large nonprofit senior living provider, is seeking qualified Registered Nurses (RNs) to join their team. The organization's mission is to create joy and peace of mind for residents and their families by providing a better way of life. This role involves ensuring quality care through staff performance monitoring, physician communication, care planning, and resident assessment, while also providing direct resident care. The position operates within established nursing standards and regulations for skilled nursing facilities. The role is available in assisted living, skilled nursing, and memory care settings. Requirements

  • Graduate of an approved school of nursing.
  • Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State.
  • One year of nursing experience.
  • Devotion to standards and principles of professional nursing.
  • Skill in assessing problems, planning, and evaluating solutions related to routine supervision of LPNs and nursing assistants, and resident needs.
  • Understanding, patience, and tact in dealing with people.
  • Tactful and possess excellent communication skills (written and verbal, English).
  • Genuine compassion for senior adults and the disabled.
  • Good human relations skills and the ability to monitor and direct the activities of others.

Nice To Haves

  • Availability when necessary to work beyond normal working hours and in other related positions on a temporary basis.
  • Availability on weekends and holidays, or on days and shifts other than those for which hired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide routine daily direction and monitor the work of LPNs and nursing assistants on the unit, ensuring high standards of nursing care and task completion.
  • Assist in the orientation of new nursing personnel and reinforce training standards.
  • Motivate LPNs and CNAs assigned to the nursing unit.
  • Provide explanations of nursing procedures and assistance to staff for ongoing understanding and training.
  • Communicate regularly with the Director of Nursing regarding resident and employee activities, concerns, needs, and conditions.
  • Observe and evaluate residents' health, mental, and emotional conditions, and communicate significant changes to appropriate staff.
  • Notify physicians and family members when indicated, according to prescribed procedures.
  • Provide direct care to residents.
