About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Registered Nurse for the Step Down unit. This role involves providing high-quality care to patients recovering from critical illnesses and surgeries. The unit has 6–20 beds and a patient-to-nurse ratio of 1 to 4. Patients may have conditions including sepsis, heart failure, hypertensive emergency, respiratory failure, COPD, chronic kidney disease, type 2 diabetes mellitus, substance abuse, status epilepticus, and encephalopathy. Nurses may also be required to float to other Intermediate Care Units (IMCU), most commonly 5J and 12A.

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience.
• Current ACLS certification.
• Current BLS certification.
• Must work the designated holiday coverage described in the posting.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality care to patients recovering from critical illnesses and surgeries.
• Float to other Intermediate Care Units (IMCU) as required, most commonly 5J and 12A.
• Work designated holiday coverage: either Thanksgiving Day or the day after Thanksgiving, and either Christmas Eve and Christmas Day or New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day.
