About The Position

Ascension Via Christi, St Teresa is seeking a Registered Nurse for their Surgery specialty in Wichita, KS. This is a full-time, day shift position with 4 shifts per week, Monday - Friday from 6:30 am - 5:00 pm, and includes call requirements. Requirements

• Licensed Registered Nurse credentialed from the Kansas Board of Nursing required.
• Advanced Life Support obtained within 6 Months (180 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
• Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.

Responsibilities

• Lead the surgical environment as a dual-threat clinician, expertly navigating both scrub and circulating roles to ensure seamless operative flow.
• Advocate for patient safety by vigilantly monitoring physiological status and communicating critical changes to the surgical team in real-time.
• Partner directly with surgeons during complex procedures, providing skilled technical assistance in hemostasis, suturing, and wound exposure to optimize clinical outcomes.
• Coordinate the sterile field and surgical theater by meticulously preparing specialized instrumentation and equipment, ensuring the right tools are ready at the right moment.
• Document the complete patient perioperative journey to maintain a high-standard, continuous record of care that ensures safety and compliance from incision to recovery.
