About The Position

Sentara Martha Jefferson Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Non Invasive Cardiology department. This is a full-time, day shift position in Charlottesville, VA. The role involves supervision of stress testing and monitor placement, as well as backup for CCTA, MRI, and cardiac PET scans. The noninvasive team includes RNs, Cardiovascular Technicians, and Sonographers, seeing an average of 7 patients a day, both inpatient and outpatient. Sentara Martha Jefferson has a low RN turnover rate and high patient satisfaction scores.

Requirements

  • Registered nursing License (Required)
  • ACLS required prior to completion of orientation
  • BLS required within 90 days of hire
  • Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required)
  • Critical care experience in hospital required

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor of Science Nursing- BSN or MSN (Preferred)
  • 1-2 years Cath/EP Lab, radiology, or cardiac step-down experience will be considered.
  • Ideal candidates will have a background in EKG/Telemetry and Stress Testing.

Responsibilities

  • Perform a competent level of nursing care using the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, coordination of care, teaching and health promotion, and evaluation).
  • Adhere to standards of professional performance including ethics, culturally congruent practice, communication, collaboration, leadership, education, evidence-based practice/nursing research, quality, evaluation, resource utilization, and environmental health.
  • Supervise stress testing and monitor placement.
  • Provide backup for CCTA, MRI, and cardiac PET scans.
  • Provide intra-procedural patient care/monitoring.
  • Administer moderate sedation.
