Provides direct patient care using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice. Reports to the Director or Manager of Department. This role serves a wide range of patient populations including Neonate, Infant, Early Childhood, Late Childhood, Adolescent, Young Adult, Middle Adult, and Older Adult. Employees may have occupational exposure to bloodborne pathogens and access protected health information including demographic, clinical, insurance, and financial data, as well as the complete medical record. The role requires frequent standing, walking, lifting/moving patients, and repetitive hand/arm movements. There is regular exposure to biological and chemical hazards, including blood and bodily fluids, hazardous medications, and latex.
