About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Registered Nurse for an Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU). The nurse will provide high-quality patient care and support the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment. The unit serves adults aged 18 and older and has 64 beds, including 15 designated Neuro beds. Care includes neurological conditions, cardiac issues, trauma, respiratory conditions such as COPD, DKA, and sepsis, myocardial infarction, cardiovascular stepdown, and postoperative cases. The unit also cares for patients on chronic ventilators, with Respiratory Therapy available to assist with weaning when possible.

The role works a 6:30 PM–7:00 AM shift and requires floating. The scrub color is navy blue.

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience in an Intermediate Care/Progressive Care Unit (IMCU/PCU).
• Current AHA BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications.
• Active New York RN license and verification of all RN licenses.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR), specifically EPIC.
• A skills checklist matching the specialty is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care in an Intermediate Care Unit.
• Support the healthcare team in a fast-paced environment.
• Care for patients with neurological, cardiac, trauma, respiratory, cardiovascular stepdown, and postoperative needs.
• Care for patients on chronic ventilators and collaborate with Respiratory Therapy on weaning when possible.
• Float as required.
