Registered Nurse, Full-Time Days, Variable Shift, Endoscopy, Atlantic Health Overlook Medical Center
About The Position
The Registered Nurse in the Endoscopy unit demonstrates knowledge of conditions/diagnoses, procedures, and equipment encountered in Gastroenterology and Pulmonary. The role requires adherence to SGNA standards of practice, active patient and family involvement in teaching, and flexibility in meeting unit staffing needs. The primary goal is to practice clinically effectively to improve patient satisfaction. The department operates Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 6:00 pm, and Saturdays from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, with an on-call team available outside of these hours for emergencies.
Requirements
- Demonstrates knowledge of the conditions/diagnoses, procedures and equipment encountered in the Endoscopy unit including Gastroenterology, and Pulmonary.
- Exhibits knowledge of and consistently maintains SGNA standards of practice.
- Assesses patient reaction and understanding of procedure/instructions- actively including the patient and family members in teaching.
- Demonstrates flexibility and responsibility in meeting the unit's staffing needs.
- Clinically practice consistently and effectively with the goal of improving patient satisfaction.
Responsibilities
- Maintains accurate, complete health care records and reports.
- Administers medications to patients and monitors them for side effects and reactions.
- Prescribes assistive medical devices and related treatments.
- Monitors, reports, and records symptoms or changes in patient conditions.
- Assesses, implements, plans, or evaluates patient nursing care plans by working with healthcare team members.
- Records patient vital signs and medical information.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
