About The Position

The registered nurse at BMH supports the philosophy of nursing by planning and coordinating care for a group of patients within the assigned area. The nurse directs ancillary personnel in implementing patients’ plans of care and must have mastered the basic skills for the assigned area. Nursing practice focuses on an assigned group of patients and may include charge responsibilities as assigned. The nurse practices within the limits of the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Ethics for nurses, hospital policies and procedures, and Nursing Standards of Practice.

Requirements

• Ability to obtain and maintain a South Carolina nursing license.
• Current South Carolina RN license.
• BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association, required before the first clinical shift.
• ACLS certification; new graduates must obtain ACLS within six months of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience is preferred.
• PALS certification.
• CEN certification.
• TNCC certification.
• ENPC certification.

Responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate care for a group of patients in the assigned area.
• Direct ancillary personnel in implementing patients’ plans of care.
• Perform charge responsibilities as assigned.
• Practice in accordance with the South Carolina Nurse Practice Act, the Code of Ethics for nurses, hospital policies and procedures, and Nursing Standards of Practice.
