About The Position

UPMC Somerset Emergency Department is seeking a Casual Registered Nurse (RN) to support their 24/7 operations. This position offers flexibility with 12-hour shifts scheduled on an as-needed basis. Applicants will be placed in the appropriate job title and salary from the My Nursing Career Ladder, based on their individual experience and education.

Requirements

  • Minimum 1 year experience.
  • NIHSS upon hire
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) (or within 6 months of hire)
  • Basic Arrhythmia Course (upon hire or within 1 year)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) (or within 6 months of hire)
  • Registered Nurse (RN) Current licensure as a Registered Professional Nurse in practicing state.
  • Act 33 with renewal
  • Act 34 with renewal
  • Act 73 FBI Clearance with renewal

Nice To Haves

  • BSN preferred.
  • UPMC approved national certification preferred.

  • Use research and evidence-based practice to enhance clinical care and quality improvement efforts.
  • Engage in unit-based shared governance and contribute to goal setting and care team partnerships.
